Charity Archery Shoot Film | Wellness Co-Op
Finding the visual language
This was the first one, before it became a yearly thing, and the question we had to answer was what a mental health fundraiser is supposed to look like. Because the default is wrong. Soft piano, downcast faces, a slow fade to a donate button. Veterans and first responders can smell that from across a field. The answer turned out to be in the archery itself. Shot at high frame rate, a draw and release is genuinely beautiful. Tension, then the loose, then the arrow gone. It's focus made visible, which is not a bad way to think about what the Co-Op actually does for people. So we leaned all the way into slow motion and let the sport carry the tone. Serious without being sad. That's the register, and it's the one we've come back to every year since.
Who is
Wellness Co-Op
The Wellness Co-Op works on the mental toll carried by military members, first responders, and their families from repeated exposure to trauma and stress. They build relief programs that fit around demanding schedules, funded in part by this shoot.

The tone that stuck
The Co-Op got a fundraising film that treats its community as capable people having a good day rather than as subjects of concern, which is the only register that works with this audience. It set the visual approach we've used on the event every year since.
