Annual Charity Shoot Film | Wellness Co-Op
A fundraiser about not talking about it
The Wellness Co-Op works on the mental health of veterans, first responders, and their families. Which is a subject where the standard nonprofit video playbook, the somber music and the slow fade, would be exactly wrong. These are people who spend their lives being told to process things and are frequently sick of hearing it. So the day is an archery shoot, and we covered it as a day, not a cause. A lot of slow motion, because a released arrow is genuinely beautiful at high frame rate and because slow motion lets you sit with people without making them say anything. Then a short interview to explain what the money is for. Cut vertical and horizontal both, so it works everywhere they post without anyone having to reformat it later.
Who is
Wellness Co-Op
The Wellness Co-Op works on the mental toll carried by military members, first responders, and their families through repeated exposure to trauma and stress. They build programs around relief that fits into demanding schedules, and the annual archery shoot funds that work.

The cause, without the guilt trip
The Co-Op got a film that raises money by showing a good day rather than leaning on obligation, which is the right register for a community that doesn't respond to being pitied. Vertical and horizontal cuts meant it went everywhere without a second edit.
