Custom Jewelry Commercial | Chalmers Jewelers
Pizza rings and pickleball earrings
Most custom jewelry marketing shows an engagement ring, and there's a good reason for that. It also quietly teaches people that custom means one thing, when Chalmers can build basically anything somebody walks in and describes. Pizza. Pickleball. Whatever's in your head. So we made the whole spot about the weird stuff. Real pieces, shot close, animation carrying the jumps between one strange request and the next. It moves quick, because the range is the message and a slow version would undercut it. Tone was the hard part. Go too silly and the craftsmanship stops reading as real, which defeats the point entirely. So the photography and the grade stayed premium, the pieces still look like they cost what they cost, and the concept does all the joking.
Who is
Chalmers Jewelers
Chalmers Jewelers has been on University Avenue in Middleton since 1992, family started and still independently owned. Around twenty people work there, including GIA graduate gemologists and four full-time goldsmiths, and the custom work happens on site instead of getting shipped off somewhere. Customers can watch their piece get made.

Widening what people ask for
The spot gave Chalmers marketing that expands what a customer thinks to request, which is the entire business case for keeping goldsmiths on the bench. It also gave them something with a personality, in a category where nearly every competitor's advertising looks and sounds the same.
