Grand Opening Film | Simplicity Credit Union
Twenty-four hours, no do-overs
A grand opening is a one-take event. The ribbon gets cut once, the crowd shows up once, and if you miss it you don't get to come back Tuesday and pick up the shot. Simplicity was opening their Stevens Point branch and needed something posted while people still cared, which put the vertical social cut on a 24 hour clock. So we shot light. Small footprint, fast moves, drone up for the exterior and the crowd, teleprompter for the pieces that had to be said cleanly. Nothing that would make the event revolve around us, because it wasn't our day. Then straight to the computer. Vertical cut out the door inside a day, full-length version after. Something for the moment, something that lasts.
Who is
Simplicity Credit Union
Simplicity Credit Union is a member-owned financial cooperative serving central Wisconsin with personal and business banking. The Stevens Point branch is one of several across the region. Their whole pitch is making the money side of life less of a headache, which we appreciate.

Posted while it mattered
The vertical cut went up while the opening was still fresh, which is the entire point of covering an event and the exact thing that gets lost in a two-week edit cycle. The full-length version gave them something to keep using long after the day ended.
