8 Year History Film | gener8tor
Eight years of receipts
A company history video is an archive problem before it's a filmmaking problem. gener8tor had eight years of photos, old footage, and people who were there, most of it scattered across drives and phones and nobody's idea of an organized system. So a lot of this job happened before a camera came out. Finding what existed, figuring out what was usable, and deciding what eight years actually adds up to when you have to say it in one sitting. Then interviews to carry it, cut against the archival material. The audience for this was a room in Milwaukee on premiere night, which means it played to people who lived through most of it. That's a tough crowd. They notice what you left out.
Who is
Gener8tor
gener8tor runs a platform for the creative economy, connecting startup founders, musicians, artists, investors, universities, and corporations through pre-accelerators, accelerators, corporate programs, conferences, and fellowships.

Eight years, one sitting
gener8tor got a film that compresses eight years into something a room can absorb at once, which is the only way an anniversary piece earns its slot on a premiere night program. Pulling the archive together also left them with usable history that wasn't organized before.
