10 Year Anniversary Film | gener8tor
Two weeks, 25 interviews, 500 people watching
gener8tor came to us about a ten year highlight film with two weeks until it screened in front of more than 500 people in a room. We said yes immediately, which in hindsight is either confidence or a character flaw. Two weeks is not a lot for a twelve minute film. We interviewed over 25 people and got most of them into the cut, which means the real work was structural. With that many voices you either build a spine early or you end up with a very long list of people saying nice things about a company. The screening deadline changes how you edit, too. This wasn't going to autoplay in somebody's feed where they can bail at fifteen seconds. It played to a seated room that would sit through all of it, so it could actually breathe.
Who is
gener8tor
gener8tor builds startup ecosystems, connecting entrepreneurs, investors, educators, corporations, and artists to create jobs and wealth in the communities they operate in. They describe themselves as a social enterprise, and after ten years they had a genuinely national footprint to show for it.

Delivered to a full room
The film premiered on schedule to an audience of more than 500 people, which is the only deadline that mattered and the kind that doesn't move. Getting 25 voices into twelve coherent minutes gave gener8tor a decade-marker piece that holds up well past the anniversary.
