RYLA 2024

STRLGHT was proud to partner with Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) to capture the inspiring experience of RYLA 2024 at Camp Upham Woods. This year's program was all about empowering young leaders and making a tangible impact through service and community building. We were deeply involved in every step of the creative process—from writing and directing to filming and editing. Our goal was to bring the energy, enthusiasm, and spirit of the event to life on screen. Using a mix of on-the-ground footage and stunning drone cinematography, we showcased the many facets of the RYLA experience. This year, the camp focused on environmental stewardship, with participants actively engaging in service projects such as planting pollinator gardens and removing invasive species. We captured the hands-on efforts of these young leaders as they worked to support Rotary’s newest area of focus: the environment. The video not only highlights their dedication to creating a positive impact but also emphasizes the importance of continuing this work in their own communities. Throughout the video, we highlight moments of connection and growth, from students forming new friendships and learning leadership skills to reflecting on their experiences. The day culminates in a powerful moment at Sunset Rock, where participants had the opportunity to quiet their minds and think about how they can bring their newfound knowledge and passion back home. We also documented the broader impact of RYLA, with past participants starting new Interact clubs at their schools, illustrating how the program’s influence extends far beyond the camp. By blending dynamic shots, compelling storytelling, and vibrant music, we created a video that encapsulates what RYLA is all about: fostering leadership, building community, and inspiring lasting change. The final piece serves not just as a recap of the event, but as a rallying cry for young leaders to continue their journey of service and action long after they leave camp.
